On August 29th, a delegation from Electric Power Research Institute of Guangdong Power Grid Co., Ltd., including Wang Zhongao, Party Committee Secretary and Deputy Director, Xie Songyu, Deputy Chief Engineer, Liang Xiaobing, Deputy Chief Engineer, and a team of experts, visited Shanghai Superconductor(SST) for comprehensive and in-depth research and exchange activities.

Recently, the world’s first fully high-temperature superconducting Tokamak device, developed and constructed by Energy Singularity, known as HH70, has successfully achieved first plasma discharge.

In collaboration with Tsinghua University, Startorus Fusion has successfully developed a prototype of a D-shaped high-temperature superconducting magnet, achieving a maximum field strength of 18T inside the magnet.

On September 7, 2023, the Third Academy of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation’s(CASIC) successfully completed the commercial space electromagnetic launch high-temperature superconducting electric suspension navigation test.

On August 18th, the world's first 35-kilovolt kilometer-level superconducting power transmission demonstration project successfully achieved full-load operation, reaching an operating current of 2160.12 amperes, and once again setting a new record for the largest actual operating capacity of commercial superconducting power transmission projects in China.

Recently, Energy Singularity announced the successful winding of the first toroidal field coil (TF) magnet of Honghuang 70 (HH70) HTS tokamak device. Subsequently, 12 TF magnets of the same size and parameters will be used to form a toroidal magnetic field.

Recently, “Unique Superconducting Materials” featured on CCTV-10’s “Perspective of New technology”. In the program, the host Sheng Chun together with two guests Luo Huiqian, a researcher from the Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Guo Liang, an engineer from the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, jointly introduced the magical properties of superconducting materials and the latest domestic application results.

On May 8, 2023, the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation between Shanghai Superconductor Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Superconductor”) and Hefei International Applied Superconductivity Center (hereinafter referred to as “Superconductivity Center”) was held in Shanghai.
